Build & collaboration
What does Raven Rock Technology do?
We build fast, reliable eCommerce sites and storefronts on Shopify, WooCommerce, and headless setups (a custom Next.js customer-facing site connected to Shopify or WooCommerce). We also handle migrations, integrations, fixes, and ongoing improvements.
Do you build headless Shopify and headless WooCommerce?
Yes. Headless is a great fit when you want maximum speed, flexibility, and a custom shopping experience—while keeping Shopify or WooCommerce as the source of truth for products, orders, and operations.
What’s your typical process?
Most projects follow a clear flow:
- Discovery and requirements
- Scope + plan (deliverables, timeline, milestones)
- Build (with a staging link for reviews)
- QA and pre-launch validation
- Launch
- Post-launch stabilization + optimization
Do you do design?
We’re development-first, not a design agency. We’ll implement your provided designs (Figma works great), collaborate with your designer, and make practical UX/conversion tweaks during the build. For net-new brand or visual design, we’ll partner with—or follow—a designer you bring.
Can you work with my agency or internal team?
Yes. We regularly collaborate with agencies, marketers, and designers. We can plug into your workflow and deliver clean, organized builds.
How do you prevent surprises during a project?
Clear scope, milestone-based delivery, and written change control. If something impacts timeline or budget, you’ll hear it early with options—not at the end.
Deciding on headless
How do I know if headless is the right choice?
Headless usually makes sense if you care about:
- Speed, Core Web Vitals, and conversion
- Highly custom layouts or UX
- Complex merchandising or content needs
- Multi-site / multi-brand setups
If your priority is the simplest setup with lots of off-the-shelf apps and minimal custom work, a traditional Shopify theme or standard WooCommerce build might be the better starting point.
Can I keep using my current apps/plugins?
Sometimes. On headless builds, some theme-dependent apps don’t apply the same way. We’ll review what you use and recommend alternatives where needed.
Where will my site be hosted?
For headless storefronts, we commonly use modern hosting like Vercel for the customer-facing site, and a reliable host for WordPress/WooCommerce when applicable. We’ll recommend the best setup based on your traffic, stack, and budget.
What do you need from me to get started?
Usually:
- Access to your platform admin (Shopify/WooCommerce/WordPress)
- Domain/DNS access (or someone who can update it)
- Brand assets (logo, fonts, colors)
- Examples of sites you like
- Analytics access (optional but helpful)
Scope, pricing & ownership
How do you price projects?
We offer:
- Fixed-scope builds (clear deliverables and milestones)
- Retainers (ongoing improvements, support, and feature work)
After a short discovery, we’ll provide a proposal outlining scope, timeline, and what’s included.
What’s included—and what’s not?
Typically included:
- Development and implementation
- Core integrations (as scoped)
- Performance and SEO foundations
- Launch support
Not included unless scoped:
- Full brand design
- Paid app/plugin subscriptions
- Product photography
- Copywriting
- Large-scale product/content entry
Who owns the code and accounts?
You do. We build in your accounts (or transfer cleanly), and we can provide documentation so you’re not locked in.
Migrations, SEO & integrations
Can you migrate my current store?
Yes. We handle migrations between Shopify, WooCommerce, and headless storefront rebuilds. We’ll plan the migration carefully to minimize downtime and protect SEO.
Will a rebuild hurt my SEO?
It doesn’t have to. We prioritize:
- Preserving URL structure when possible
- 301 redirects for changed URLs
- Metadata and structured data continuity
- Crawlable pages and strong performance
How do you handle redirects?
We audit your existing URLs, map old-to-new, implement 301 redirects, and validate to avoid broken links and ranking drops.
Can you integrate with tools like Klaviyo, GA4, Meta Pixel, shipping, or an ERP?
Yes. If there’s a reliable native integration, great. If not, we can connect via API. We’ll confirm the exact data flow and requirements before building.
Can you build custom features like bundles, subscriptions, or product builders?
Often, yes. Depending on complexity, we’ll recommend:
- Native platform functionality
- A proven app/plugin
- A custom build (when it’s truly worth it)
Post-launch & support
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes. We can provide a monthly care plan or ongoing retainer work for:
- Updates and maintenance
- Monitoring and fixes
- Performance improvements
- Conversion optimization
- New features
What happens after launch?
We typically include a stabilization window to handle any post-launch issues quickly. After that, we can shift into ongoing improvements based on analytics and business goals.
